The apartment market in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City in particular, is likely to experience a double-digit increase in 2008, Thailand’s Agent for Real Estate Affairs (AREA) has said.

According to AREA’s survey results unveiled on May 9, the number of housing projects in Vietnam has increased by 184 percent over the last year. Significantly, Ho Chi Minh City has 40,055 apartments under construction with up to 96 percent of them on order.

Vietnam’s increasing demand for apartments reflects its economic growth potential, which will offer numerous good opportunities for Thai investors, the organisation concluded.
