Germany will fund 2 million euros for a project on environmental protection and natural resources sustainable management in the central highland province of Dak Nong.

An agreement to implement the project was signed between the provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Do The Nhu and German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) Director Guenter Riethmacher in Hanoi on April 16.

The project aims to improve the participation of poor farmers and ethnic people in provincial economic development through the application of a model of agriculture – forestry combination, and community-based forest management methods.

Dak Nong is still a poor province where nearly 90 percent of residents live by agriculture and forestry and 35 percent of the total population are from ethnic groups.
