As of September 2, overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Thailand raised about US$13,160 to help Agent Orange (AO) victims in their home country.

At a recent fund-raising ceremony in Bangkok, Ambassador Ngo Đuc Thang praised humanitarian deeds of the Vietnamese community in Thailand for disadvantaged people in the home country.

On the occasion, he called upon individuals and organisations at home and abroad to join hands to ease AO victims’ pains and support their struggle for justice.

Earlier, a representative of the Vietnamese community in Angola handed over US$2,600 to the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange /dioxin (VAVA) at a ceremony in Hanoi.

VAVA President Nguyen Van Rinh, on behalf of Vietnamese AO victims, thanked for the assistance and said the amount will help build a centre to care and provide vocational training for AO victims.
