Vietnam secured the 37th position after winning three matches in the second round at the 2008 World Table Tennis Championships, which concluded in China on March 2.

The victories were clinched by three outstanding Vietnamese players namely Doan Kien Quoc, Nguyen Nam Hai and Dinh Quang Linh.


With these results, the Vietnamese team ranked second just after Singapore in the Southeast Asian region.


In the women’s team event, host China became champion, followed by Singapore and Thailand.
