A welcoming ceremony was held in Ulan-Bator on October 30 for Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet who is on a two-day official visit to Mongolia.

Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar invited President Triet to review an honour guard while the band played the national anthems of the two countries.

Shortly after that, the two presidents held talks on measures to promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia. They stressed the need to expand cooperation in economics, trade, science and technology, education and health care.

Currently, bilateral trade remains modest and the two countries aim to raise the value to US$10 million in 2010.
