Truong Thanh Hang and Nguyen Dinh Cuong on December 14 took two more gold medals for Vietnam in the 800m race for both men and women events at the ongoing SEA Games in Laos.  

At SEA Games 24 in Thailand, female sprinter Hang finished first in the 800m race after 2’02”39, leaving behind her Myanmar rival Aye Myint who won a bronze medal, with 2’08”03.

In Laos this time, Hang outclassed Aye Myint again, defending her champion title in the event, clocking 2’02”74.

This was her fourth gold medal at SEA Games and the second in the 800m race at regional sporting events.

20 minutes later, her team mate Nguyen Dinh Cuong also finished first in the men’s 800 event with 1’50”64. The gold medallist broke his record set at the 24th SEA Games in Thailand where he ran 800m for 1’51”16, winning the champion title.

Earlier, marksmen brought home another gold medal in the 10m air rifle mobile target event.

Dang Hong Ha, Cu Thi Thanh Tu and Nguyen Thi Le Quyen got a total of 1,043 points, two points more than Lao marksmen who won the silver medal.

After four days, Vietnam won 4 gold, 8 silvers and 6 bronzes in shooting.
