The Vinacapital Foundation and a US Non Government Organization have agreed to launch a US$600,000 programme, aimed at providing free heart surgery for poor children in Vietnam.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the heads of Da Nang city, authorities and Kenneth J. Fairfax, the US Consulate General in Vietnam.

The money aims to help at least 1,200 poor Vietnamese children with free heart surgery.

The move is part of a charity programme first launched by the Vinacapital Group in 2006. Up to present, the programme has provided free heart surgery for over 1,000 poor children nationwide.
