Vietnam attaches great importance to strengthening friendship and cooperation with Qatar, and welcomes Qatari enterprises wishing to do business in Vietnam for mutual benefit, said Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Mr Triet made the statement while receiving Qatari Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabor al-Thani in Hanoi on April 3.

President Triet expressed his hope that Vietnam and Qatar will further exchange visits at all levels in order to create a foundation for facilitating cooperation in all fields, particularly in investment, oil and gas, labour and trade.

The Qatari Prime Minister stressed that his successful visit to Vietnam will further enhance the two countries’ relations in the future.

He revealed that Qatar will send a business delegation to Vietnam to study the market and seek investment opportunities in the country. Many Qatari businesses are keen on the Vietnamese market.

Mr Jabir al-Thani said that Qatar has gained remarkable achievements in cooperation with Asian countries that will help Qatar effectively boost cooperation with Vietnam. Qatar wants to become Vietnam’s long-term investor and largest economic partner, he added.

In the afternoon, Qatari Prime Minister Jabir al-Thani left Hanoi, successfully concluding his official visit to Vietnam from April 2-3 at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung./.
