Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has given the green light to a project on poverty reduction in northern mountain provinces under which the country will borrow US$150 million from the World Bank (WB).
The project with a total capitalisation of US$165 million is a continuation of another project to reduce poverty in these provinces.

The PM has authorised the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Nguyen Van Giau, to sign a loan agreement and other related documents with the WB and instructed the Ministry of Planning and Investment to work with relevant agencies and provincial people’s committees which benefit from the project to fulfill the requirements of the WB.
