Two French marine cruisers - Jeanne D'arc (helicopter carrier) and Georges Leygues (anti-submarine destroyer) - docked at Hai Phong port on February 5, beginning their five-day goodwill visit to the northern port city of Hai Phong.

On board was Admiral Christian Frédéric Maurice, commander of French forces in Asia-Pacific.

During their stay, Admiral Maurice and sailors will pay a courtesy visit to leaders of the Hai Phong municipal People’s Committee, the Vietnam People’s Army General Staff, the Vietnam Navy High Command and the Military Zone No. 3 High Command.

On the occasion, friendly matches between French sailors and footballers of the Vietnam Navy High Command and Hai Phong city will also be organized.
