The Vietnam Post and Telecommunications (VNPT) Group will become a member of the ASEAN Telecom Holding Company (ATH/ACASIA) after a Memorandum of Understanding is signed on September 19, said a representative of the group.

VNPT will then build in Vietnam a service node in compliance with ACASIA’s technical standards. This node will link with other members’ nodes to offer clients both order and payment services.

The group will also coordinate with its ACASIA partners to supply products, data transmission services, as well as supporting services to help customers in the region gain access to services provided by all telecommunications member companies of ACASIA.

ATH/ACASIA group, one of ASEAN's leading primary network service providers, consists of the six leading telecom providers in the region, namely CAT, Indosat, the JTB, the PLDT, Singtel and Telekom Malaysia.
