The Asia Times has run an article entitled “Japan Inc smitten by Vietnam” by Hisane Masako about the investment strategies of major Japanese companies in Vietnam.

The author said Japanese enterprises are turning to Vietnam and increasing their investment in the country. Many Japanese small-and medium-sized firms considered Vietnam the second investment destination after China in 2005 while major Japanese firms only regarded Vietnam as a place to export their products to other countries. They came to Vietnam mainly because of its safe investment environment and political stability, the author noted.
