Domestic and foreign companies are showcasing their products and services at the annual Vietnam International Trade Expo, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on December 4.

The five-day event features exhibitors from Vietnam, China, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Japan and other countries with over 400 pavilions on farming, food and drink, garment, electrical and electronic products, construction material, furniture, equipment and machinery and services in banking, insurance, transportation and advertisement.


Pham Quynh Giang, deputy general director of Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (Vinexad) said a highlight of the event is environmental technology with firms from Japan, the RoK and Malaysia displaying new equipment and technologies for water treatment and Danish firm GJ Vietnam introducing the use of solar energy as one of power-saving solutions.


Other highlights include farming machinery brought by exhibitors from Republic of Korea (RoK), Malaysia and China.


The same day, a seminar on opportunities for foreign investment was held under the framework of the expo. 


The expo and seminar were organised by Vinexad and the Vietnam Trade Fair and Advertising National Company the Ho Chi Minh City International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
