The fair attracted more than 100 domestic and foreign textile and garment companies from the US, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong and Vietnam, showcasing their wares at more than 240 booths.

A gala show took place the same day at the Legend Hotel, where 200 domestic designs from Viet Tien, Nha Be, May 10, Viet Thang, and Phuong Dong aim to set the trends for the 2008 Spring-Summer season.

Other fashion shows during the six-day fair will highlight original Vietnamese designs as well as collaborative collections by American and Korean designers.

This year's event is being organised by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), the Vietnam Textile and Garment Corp (VINATEX) and the Hong Kong-based CP Exhibition Company.
