More than 700,000 people have signed the petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/AOVN, to support Vietnamese AO/dioxin victims’ lawsuit against US chemical producers that churned out toxic chemicals for the US army during the war in Vietnam.

The announcement was made by Len Aldis, Secretary of the Britain-Vietnam Friendship Society, on May 29.

On the occasion, Mr Aldis expressed his thanks to those who have signed the petition as well as those who have collected signatures to support AO/dioxin victims. He expressed delight at the great efforts and hoped that there will be more people signing the petition before the Judges of the New York Court of Appeals meet in June to give their ruling.

Those who signed the petition have asked the US government and chemical firms take responsibility for the harmful effects caused to many people. On behalf of the Society,

Mr Aldis asked the New York Court of Appeals to respect the opinions of those who seek justice for Vietnamese AO victims.

Currently, more than 3 million Vietnamese people are suffering from the impacts of Agent Orange used during the war.
