A third international sports cinema and TV film festival concluded in HCM City on June 4 with domestic films taking the lead in five of the festival's six themes, and Singapore winning the title for sport advertisement.

Film "Vietnam toa sang cung SEA Games 22" (Vietnam is shining with SEA Games 22) by the Ministry of Culture and Information won the title for the sport reporting genre and "Doi Nguoi The Ky (A Century of Human Life) by the HCM City TV Film Studio won the first prize for documentary sport films. Other first prize winners included "Bai tap Thai cuc quyen -Taolu" (Taolu Excercise) by HCM City TV, "Nu Vo Si" (Female Martial Artist) by the TFS Studio, and "English Premier League TVC - The Cleaner," by Matt Lim of the ESPN television channel of Singapore. There was no first prize winner for the sport games on TV genre but the second prize went to "Nhung nha vo dich nhi" (Little Title-holders) by HCM City TV.

The festival, jointly organised by the Sport and Physical Training Committee, the Vietnam Cinematography Department and HCM City Television, drew 70 entries of different genres, including 17 units from Vietnam and Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Laos.

The festival also selected outstanding films in the region for a world sport film festival scheduled for Milan, Italy, from October 25-November 1, 2006.
