The Ministry of Information and Communications and Microsoft Vietnam on October 19 agreed to establish an Information Technology (IT) development fund.

The fund aims to support the upgrading of IT applications in state agencies.

Accordingly, the two sides will cooperate in increasing the quality of human resources in the Government in the IT field. Besides, Microsoft will help Vietnam deploy e-Government services under projects developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the National Assembly and other IT projects launched in 17 localities across the country.

The focus will be on developing IT management systems, building electronic information portals and improving public services.

In addition, both sides were committed to strengthening the capacity of the software industry and the competitiveness of Vietnam in the region and the world.
