He attended an inauguration ceremony of the Luang Namtha friendship culture palace – a US$1 million project funded by the northern Vietnamese province of Vinh Phuc.

In Oudomsay province, Mr Hung offered incense at the Laos-Vietnam combating alliance monument, visited and presented gifts to the Vietnamese government-funded ethnic boarding school.

He shared difficulties that the two provinces are facing and affirmed Vietnam’s determination to increase cooperation with Laos in all areas.  

The Deputy PM said both countries will give priority to cooperation in education and investment, considering this a lever for speeding up socio-economic development programmes and improving people’s living conditions.
