More than 300 teenagers from 15 provinces and cities across the country joined the second “young National Assembly” in Ho Chi Minh City on June 27.

The event which is the same as a NA meeting was held by the southern Teenagers Centre under the HCM Youth Union Central Committee.

Acting as if they were NA deputies and Ministers of Education and Training, Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Information and Communications, teenagers pointed out the main issues such as pressure of examinations, learning in summer, child violence, child labour, play areas for children in summer time, the harmful effects of online gaming.

Most of them said that the pressure of examinations had a negative effect and proposed that the Ministry of Education and Training trim back the curriculum, increase extracurricular activities, and allot more time for both training and entertainment in the summer holidays.

They also asked the Ministry of Information and Communications to tighten up the import of online games and ban game players from playing more than 6 hours a day. In addition, they asked for more cultural houses for teenagers to use in the summer holidays.
