VOV.VN - A high-level Vietnam Party and State delegation led by Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has paid tribute to Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro Ruz in Havana, Cuba.
Chairwoman Ngan and the Vietnamese delegation arrived in Havana, Cuba on November 28 (local time). |
Cuban officials welcomed Ms Ngan and her entourages at the airport. |
Vietnam is the first international delegation to pay last respects to the revolutionary leader. |
Writing in the funeral book, Ms Ngan conveyed Vietnam Party, State and people’s boundless sorrow and deepest sympathy to the Party, State and people of Cuba and the family of Fidel Castro Ruz. |
The NA leader visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community on the same day. |
Ms Ngan spoke highly of the embassy and OV community’s effort to implementing the Party and State’s foreign policies and to promoting traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba. |
The NA leader laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh Statue at Peace Park in Havana, Cuba on September 29. |
Ms Ngan spoke to Cuban people and members of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association. |
On behalf of Vietnam Party and State, NA chairwoman Ngan delivered a speech at the memorial services for Fidel Castro at Revolutionary Square in Havana. |
Ms Ngan stressed Vietnamese people always bear in their heart Fidel’s saying that “For Vietnam, Cuba is ready to shed its blood”. |
Earlier on November 29, Ms Ngan met President of Cuban National Assembly of People's Power Esteban Laz. |
Generations of Vietnamese have always kept in mind the fraternal solidarity and the whole-hearted and valuable support of Fidel for Vietnam over the past half a century, she said. |
On same day, the chief legislator met Speaker of Russia's State Duma VyateslavVolodin. |
Mr Volodin assured that Russia considers Vietnam as its leading partner in Southeast Asia and hopes to step up the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations. |
On November 30, Ms Ngan met Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in Havana. |
The top legislator said Vietnam supports the constitutional government of Venezuela and attaches much importance to developing multi-faceted with the country. She believes Venezuelan people will overcome current difficulties and challenges to make their country prosperous. |
Ms Ngan presented a gift to President Maduro. |
The same day, after meeting Cuban hero and patriot Antonio Guerrero, Ms Ngan and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Havana for Hanoi. |
