APGS golf summit opens in Danang

The Asian Pacific Golf Summit (APGS) began on November 15 with the participation of many leading golf operators, speakers, and managers of world golf groups in Danang City.

Among the attendees were Bob Parsons, chairman and founder of Parsons Xtreme Golf, Zach Shor, chief operating officer of Topgolf International and Adam Harris, an app developer, and Andrew Wood, CEO of Legendary Marketing.

They discussed golf industry business development, talked about solutions for golf technology through smart apps as well as forecast future trends in the sport.

Themed New Directions’, APGS provided information for the growth of Vietnam’s tourism in general and golf tourism in particular.

“Many people working in the field of golf, who attended this morning’s conference have never been in Vietnam before. I believe that the summit will help them to understand more about our country and people. Through this event, we can widely popularise our tourism and golf tourism to international friends,” said Nguyen Thi Nga, chairman of BRG Group, Vietnam’s leading golf course operator.

The summit will continue on November 16.

Earlier on November 14, APGS participants competed in the 2017 Asia Pacific Inter-Club Golf Tournment, the opening activity of the summit, at the BRG Danang Golf Resort.

They were the first athletes to experience the course designed by famed golfer Jack Nicklaus’s company Nicklaus Design.
