The European Union (EU) will support the implementation of projects that are one of mutual concern. It will assist Vietnamese localities in modernizing their economies such as building public management systems and promoting the international integration process.

More than 20 representatives of provinces and cities from Hanoi to Hue city on March 20 attended a conference on building a cooperation project between the Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association (VUPDA) and the EU.

Under the project, the EU will set up a fund in support of Vietnam’s urban planning and investment. It will assist Vietnamese localities in modernizing their economies such as building public management systems and promoting the international integration process. In addition, priority will be given to developing human resources, enhancing administrative reform and supporting the private economic sector in the process of integration into the global and regional economies.

At the conference, Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee and President of VUPDA Nguyen Quoc Trieu praised Konrard Adenauer Institute of Germany for helping the VUPDA conduct symposiums on the management of urban planning and development, emigration along with urban and rural development and the government’s role in resolving burning issues related to urban development.
