Two American non-governmental organisations, Hands of Hope (HOH) and Global Education and Development (GEDA), have granted relief packages worth VND50 million and US$2,000, respectively, to victims of tornadoes in Yen Lap district, northern Phu Tho province.

The aid was presented to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations in Hanoi on May 18.

Speaking at the ceremony,  representatives of HOH, Trinh Thi Phuong Lan, and An Gi Bog of GEDA, expressed their hope that the relief would help people in Yen Lap overcome difficulties, restore production and normalise their lives.

The two NGOs are funding humanitarian and development projects in Vietnam, which target children, especially children with difficulties.
