Nearly 200 people gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, for a “Night of Heart” held by the Green Age Association on September 17 to raise funds for Vietnamese children suffering from Agent Orange (AO) related heart disease.

Association Chairwoman, Vu Bach Nga, said her organization has set a target of providing heart surgeries for 10 poor children each year.

Since it was established in 2003, Green Age has supported heart surgeries at the Hue Central Hospital for 100 children aged 2-15. Among the children who underwent surgery, 96 were saved and are now in good health.

As many as 16,440 Vietnamese children are diagnosed with heart defects each year, most of them come from poor families living in especially difficult circumstances.
