Higher tax imposed on gasoline, petroleum imports

(VOV) - Import tariff on gasoline and petroleum rose by 8-9% as of January 7, according a Circular issued by the Finance Ministry a day earlier.
Under the Circular, MFN duty rates on gasoline increased from 27% to 35% (up 8%), while the tariffs on petroleum climbed to 35% from 26% (up 9%). Mazut faced an import duty of 35%, and Diezel fuel, 30%.
The Finance Ministry said the adjustment in gasoline, petroleum import duties goes in line with the National Assembly’s Resolution and WTO commitments in 2015 on keeping the rates at 0 – 40%.
