They informed General Giap about the living conditions of the Vietnamese community abroad and said they turn their hearts and minds to the homeland.

General Giap expressed his pleasure at the solidarity among overseas Vietnamese and hoped that they will uphold the country’s self-reliant and resilient tradition in their study and work abroad.

He called on them to contribute to national construction and defense in order to help Vietnam raise its high profile in the international arena.

The overseas Vietnamese delegation was invited to return for a ceremony marking the 63^rd National Day (September 2).
