Vietnam’s top badminton player, Nguyen Tien Minh, will compete in the US$200,000 Japan Super Series on September 22.  

The event has attracted 11 best players in the world. World no 5 Lin Dan will not participate.

Minh, who won two Grand Prix in a row, is expected to enter the quarterfinals.

According to the draw, he will face Lind Thomsen of Denmark in the first round.

The finals are scheduled on September 27.
