Ho Chi Minh City’s demand for workers in the past nine months grew by 16.6 percent over the same period last year.

This was said by Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Center of Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labor Market Information (FALMI) on September 29.

Businesses involved in marketing and sales, services, electronics, telecommunications, engineering, footwear and garment production are still short of workers. But, the market can only meet 60 percent of their demand.

According to a recent survey Ho Chi Minh City plans to employ another 95,000 workers, including 20,000 part-time workers, from now until the end of the year.
