Danang hosts int’l seminar on critical care medicine

(VOV) - Nearly 600 foreign and domestic delegates on April 16 gathered in central Danang city for a seminar on emergency critical care medicine.

The two-day event is part of the international seminar on emergency critical care medicine and medical toxicology, and sponsored by Vietnam Ministry of Health and Society of Critical Care Medicine from the US.

As many as 20 reports on critical care medicine were delivered during the seminar. Some 70% of reports were presented by international experts from the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), and Vietnam and US medical universities and hospitals.

International experts also updated Vietnamese doctors on the management of severe sepsis and septic shock, coagulation disorders in the intensive care unit (ICU), acute liver failure and critical care toxicology and more.

Emergency critical care medicine remains a blooming industry across Vietnam. Formerly, the fatality rate of patients often rose to 100%. However, more recently has saved lives of many patients in critical condition and helped Vietnam to meet international standards in the highly specialized field.

Earlier, leading professors from the US organised a three-day training course for doctors from Bach Mai and Danang hospitals.
