Overseas Vietnamese have so far raised nearly US$102,400 and VND140 million for the victims of Typhoon Chanchu.

The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese on July 6 received US$15,600 from Vietnamese people living in Thailand, Laos, France, the Netherlands and Ireland to help the typhoon victims stabilise their lives.

In mid-May, Typhoon Chanchu killed at least 20 fishermen in the central city of Da Nang and provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai and left 220 others missing.
