2,150 Odon Vallet scholarships worth a total of VND12 billion were granted to outstanding Vietnamese students nationwide, marking the tenth year the Meeting Vietnam Organisation (MVO) has carried out its mission in Vietnam.

On September 3 in Hanoi, the MVO also presented 133 scholarships, each worth VND7.5 million, to top postgraduate students in the northern region.

Earlier, about 500 students from the southe, 219 students from the central provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Da Nang, 225 students from Hue and 140 from Nghe An were also awarded scholarships.

Since 2001, the Odon Vallet scholarships have been granted to disadvantaged students who excel in study and scientific research. The scholarships were sponsored by Odon Vallet, a doctor of law at the French Sorbonne University, and distributed through the MVO, which is chaired by Vietnamese French philanthropist Tran Thanh Van.
