Yala hosting cultural market

The Thai southern province of Yala is hosting a cultural market in a bid to raise youngsters’ awareness of Thailand's cultural heritage.

The market which is being held on the theme of “Two Cultures under One Tree” is taking place in central Yala until Monday. The opening ceremony was chaired by former House Speaker Wan Muhammad Noor Matha. 

The objective of the event is to instill cultural pride and ownership in Thai youngsters, teaching them the value of both Buddhist and Muslim traditions. 

Visitors will find a wide variety of OTOP products made by local people. The event is being supported by the Provincial Governor, deputy governors, mayors, village headmen, and members of the public. 

The event features cultural performances, cooking demonstrations, a famous shadow play, and other interesting activities.
