Speaking at the signing ceremony held in Hanoi on October 10, Japan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Matsushita Tadahiro, said distribution and logistics services are considered important as they serve the common interests of Vietnamese and Japanese people.

Japan is a developing market with various kinds of distribution services, and home to many groups and multilateral companies: Panasonic, Sumitomo, AEON supermarket, Family Mart and 7-Eleven shops.

Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Ho Thi Kim Khoa, emphasized that Japan is leading partner of Vietnam, with two-way trade turnover growing strong in recent times.

Two-way trade turnover in 2010 rose to US$16 billion, 24 percent higher than in 2009. Vietnam’s total export earning from Japan reached US$4.85 billion, up 24.4 percent from the previous year. 

Currently, more than 1,500 Japanese businesses are operating in Vietnam with a focus on building traffic infrastructure, renewing technology and developing human resources.
