The Danish government has pledged nearly 9 million Krone (almost US$1.5 million) in aid for Vietnam to assess the impacts of environmental sanitation on local people’s health in mountainous Lao Cai province bordering China.

Deputy PM Pham Gia Khiem approved the project on July 26. He also entrusted the Health Ministry to sign an aid agreement with the donor and take charge of its implementation.

The fund is part of the Programme for Enhancing Research Capacity in Developing Countries (ENRECA) launched by the Danish government.
