Khmer ethnic people across the country celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay festival.

Local officials visited 12 Khmer pagodas and presented 900 packages of gifts to social policy beneficiaries and poor families of the Khmer ethic minority group to help them enjoy the traditional festival.

The local Vietnam Fatherland Front chapter had a meeting with more than 80 Khmer monks, nuns and officials on the occasion, extending their best wishes to the Khmer community.

Can Tho’s population includes more than 18,800 Khmer people, who mainly reside in O Mon district.

In southern Soc Trang province, 400,000 Khmer people are also enjoying their biggest annual festival Chol Chnam Thmay.

A large number of Khmer Buddhist followers gathered at Sam Rong pagoda in Soc Trang town on the morning of April 15 to prepare for religious rituals.
