Japan’s Information Technology Festival 2008 will be held in Hanoi from September 18-19, said Phan Tan Cong, General Secretary of the Vietnam Software Association (VINASA) at a press conference in Hanoi on June 26.

This is the second time Japan’s Information Technology Festival 2008 take place in Vietnam to show that Japan is gradually becoming a major partner of Vietnam’s software market.

Around 200 Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises will participate in the event, which is considered as a useful playground for enterprises to seek cooperative opportunities. Many activities will be held at the festival, focusing on five major areas: human resources, policy, technology, business and culture.

Cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the field of IT and software has developed strongly. The number of Vietnamese enterprises doing business with Japan has increased from 10 in 2003 to 50 in 2008.

The Japan Information Technology Services Industry Association said Vietnam has surpassed China and India to become the first choice of Japanese enterprises, which are seeking foreign partners for software processing. According to a recent survey from AT Kearney in the US, Vietnam is regarded as one of the world’s leading software processing markets.
