The Ho Chi Minh City Association of Overseas Vietnamese Enterprises is implementing two large projects to develop business opportunities after Vietnam' WTO entry, said its President Phan Thanh.

The two projects are the Bank for Overseas Vietnamese in southern Kien Giang province's Phu Quoc Island district and the 334-ha High-tech Industrial Zone in Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City.

At present, many overseas Vietnamese enterprises are looking forward Vietnam's admission to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and considering it a good opportunity for their investment in the homeland, Mr Thanh said.

With a good understanding of Vietnamese languages and culture, they will become effective bridges for bringing foreign investors to Vietnam after the country joins the WTO, he added.
