Vietnamese labourers in the Republic of Korea (RoK) joined thousands of Asian guest workers to attend “Haha Asian festival 2011” in Uijeongbu city, Gyeonggi province on October 9.

This year’s event, the sixth of its kind, was aimed at broadening guest workers’s knowledge about the RoK’s culture and boosting mutual understanding between local people and foreign labourers.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador to the RoK Tran Trong Toan expressed thanks to Uijeongbu municipal authorities for providing a chance for foreign workers to introduce their countries’ cultural values to international friends and strengthen solidarity among nations.

Ambassdor Toan encouraged foreign workers to improve their professional skills and learn more about RoK culture in order to integrate into the society.

During the festival, participants took part in various cultural activities, games, and contests.
