Vietnamese team win ACM/ICPC Asia contest in Myanmar
VOV.VN - The HCMUS-NyanCat team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Science have successfully won the championship of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) of Asia held in Yangon, Myanmar on December 10.
This competition success is the first time Vietnam have come away as champions of the ACM/ICPC Asia organized overseas.
Vietnam’s winning team comprises three contestants; Nguyen Hy Hoai Lam, Tran Quoc Cuong, and Ho Nguyen Hai Tuan from HCM City University of Science (HCMUS).
The contest gathered teams from numerous universities throughout the region such as Kyoto University of Japan, Singapore National University, Chulalongkorn University of Thailand, and Bina Nusantara of Indonesia, including three Vietnamese teams from HCMUS, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and FPT University.
As a result of their prize-winning success, the Vietnamese team will have the chance to enter the final round of the World Finals of ACM-ICPC in Beijing, China in April 2018.
Since its debut in the US in 1970, the ACM/ICPC has drawn the participation of tens of thousands of exceptional IT students, competing in different rounds at national, regional, and world levels each year.
