Indian Defence Minister to visit Vietnam

Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will make a two-day visit to Vietnam to boost military relations between the two nations, according to the Indian news agency Press Trust of India.

He will visit Vietnam after attending the Shangri-La Dialogue in early June in Singapore.

According to the Indian Defence Ministry, he will leave for Singapore on June 3 to attend the inter-government security forum which begins one day later.

Freedom of navigation and security-related issues in Asia-Pacific are expected to be mentioned during the meeting.

In 2015, India and Vietnam signed a 5-year joint vision statement to foster bilateral defence ties.
