Cargill Vietnam, a wholly US-invested company, put its fifth feed factory for the aquaculture industry into operation in Tra Noc Industrial Park in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on April 25.

The 70,000-tonne factory, the second of its kind in Can Tho, is part of Cargill's long-term support plan for the Mekong Delta's aquaculture development.

The company has built five modern animal feed processing mills throughout the country with an annual total capacity of 550,000 tonnes since 1995. It has also conducted technical conferences to share agricultural technology advances with Vietnamese partners.

Cargill Vietnam, with capital of US$80 million, is the first animal feed processing company in Vietnam to receive the HACCP certificate for food safety hygiene.
