Government, VFF enhance cooperation

(VOV) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) President Nguyen Thien Nhan co-chaired a February 19 meeting in Hanoi to review cooperation between the government and the front in 2013 and devise tasks for 2014.

The Government and the VFF pledged greater efforts to promote democracy and public engagement in the building of the Party and administration.

They affirmed their determination to combat corruption and wastefulness while resolve complaints and accusations of citizens in a more practical and effective manner.

The VFF leader Nhan promised to work closely with the government in order to reinforce the national unity and promote patriotic emulation movements as greater contributions to the building of the Party and administration.

In his statement, PM Dung applauded the close coordination between the government and the VFF during the past year which has helped the two sides better perform their tasks and functions.

He also urged the front to proactively coordinate with the government in refining policies and laws, upholding the people’s rights to mastery and building a socialist and law-governed state.

He called for closer collaboration in creating social consensus to fulfill socio-economic development targets.

The government leader stressed that unity and patriotism will help stabilize the macro economy, curb inflation, stimulate growth, and ensure social security and welfare.
