Hyundai funds Vietnam-ROK centre for women and children in Can Tho

VOV.VN - A centre for women and children repatriated from Vietnam-Korea multicultural families has been inaugurated in Can Tho City.

The US$1 million centre, funded by the Republic of Korea (ROK)’s Hyundai Motor Group and Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam is equipped with modern facilities. The returned women and children will have a chance to receive effective job training here to get more job opportunities.

According to recent statistics, the divorce rate is so high among 87,000 Vietnamese - Korean marriages, exceeding 16,000 cases, or one divorce for every five marriages. Particularly, among every six Vietnamese brides, one comes from Can Tho.

The first centre of this type in Vietnam including a Vietnam-ROK family law consultancy centre, a jop training centre, a multicultural library and multicultural literacy classes can offer comprehensive assistance for the returnees.

Le Ngoc Duc, General Director of Hyndai Thanh Cong Vietnam, says the company will pay more efforts to replicate the model to take care of the disadvantaged women.
