HCM City will organise many cultural activities and facilitate traveling procedures for overseas Vietnamese to return to their homeland for the Lunar New Year (Tet). 

A programme entitled “Meeting in Spring 2011” will be held by the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and HCM City Television on January 15 in the Labour Culture Palace.

The event will be attended by overseas Vietnamese with outstanding contribution to the country, such as Dr.Tran Duc Vy from Singapore, Nguyen Van Cuong from the USA and Dinh Kim Nguyet from Canada.

Overseas Vietnamese will attend a tour around new construction projects in the city on January 21.

The City will host an annual meeting to pass the New Year wishes to the overseas Vietnamese on January 25. The City’s authorities will listen to City’s socio-economic development and new policies toward the overseas Vietnamese will also be introduced.

Many exhibitions on the City’s achievements and cultural activities will be held in those days.

From January 21 to February 18, the Tan Son Nhat International Airport staff will pay special attention to provide best services to the overseas Vietnamese.

The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the City Department of Justice and the Department of Police will instruct the new arrived overseas Vietnamese on the relevant regulations.
