A delegation from the Vietnam National Assembly (NA) has joined other members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) at their 116th Assembly in Bali, Indonesia.

The meeting, held  from April 29 to May 4, brought together more than 130 parliamentary delegations from member countries, in addition to representatives from the United Nations and many international organizations.

Addressing the plenum, Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children Tran Thi Tam Dan, who is also head of the Vietnamese delegation, presented Vietnam’s stance on current political and international security issues and reported on the country’s implementation of the Kyoto Protocol.

On the sidelines of the Assembly, the Vietnamese delegation joined discussions at IPU committees. They also met other delegations to examine issues of common concern and work out measures to enhance bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation with other countries.
