A total of 45 disadvantaged students from universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City were awarded JPY 450,000 from the Japan-Niigata international scholarships (NVC) on December 23.
The Niigata scholarship programme is funded by the Japan International Volunteer Centre and Mr Bruce Langone with support from various organisations and individual donors in the Japanese city of Niigata.

Launched in 1998, the NVC scholarship programme granted 708 scholarships worth JPY 7.59 million to Vietnamese students.
