Nearly 50 paintings, photos and poems about the Vietnamese land and people created by French artists to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi were on display at the New Ben Thanh Gallery in Ho Chi Minh City on October 6.

Works by painter Joelle Jacque Nicaise, poet Francois Nicaise, and photographer Fernando Villalobos depict a beautiful country with optimistic people on a course of national renewal.

Joelle Jacque Nicaise said that the variety in the landscape and weather of Vietnam’s 3 regions, plus the friendly and kind-hearted people of Vietnam, provided the inspiration for her group, which plans to open more exhibitions around the country.
