Improving public health care services

(VOV) - The 8th National Conference of the Vietnam Public Health Association (VPHA) opened in Hanoi on October 11, drawing nearly 300 local and international delegates.

The two-day event is held annually as a forum for leading medical experts to share information and experience on public health issues, with a view to improving healthcare services for the community.

Nearly 30 keynote speeches are expected to be delivered during the conference, focusing on five major aspects – health care for the elderly, preventing harmful effects of tobacco, healthcare services and policies, reproductive health care, and HIV/AIDS prevention and control.

The event’s agenda will also focus on the “One health” theme, in which delegates discuss emerging infectious diseases in Vietnam.

The ongoing conference is organised in conjunction with the third National Congress and the 10th Anniversary of the VPHA.
