Sapa covered by blanket of snow
(VOV) -The mountainous districts of Sapa and Bat Xat in north-western Lao Cai province experienced widespread snowfall on February 19, with temperatures plummeting to minus two degree Celsius.
Icy conditions and heavy snow were recorded on O Quy Ho Pass and Hoang Lien Range near neighbouring Lai Chau province, more than 2,000m above sea level.
The snowfall in Sapa created a beautiful winter wonderland but has caused extreme difficulties for local residents and havoc to agricultural production.
