Ho Chi Minh City should be able to provide 80,000 jobs in the first quarter of 2010, said Tran Anh Tuan, deputy director of the HCM City Employment Services Center.

He said that the biggest demand will be from tourism, restaurants, hotels, electronics, information technology, mechanics, construction, transportation, architecture, designing, paper and packaging, publishing, finance, banking, auditing, insurance, medicines, cosmetics, marketing, service consultation, management, administration, service, textile and garment and arts and crafts.

Most of the jobs in January 2010 will include those who have completed vocational training in sales, services, household production, food processing, and interior decorating.

The demand, however, will gradually fall off.  Businesses should have a good planning for the whole year, giving priority to training and using skilled employees in economics, human resources management, scientific research, information and communications technology.
